Permanent Residency

The majority of our clients are looking to obtain Permanent Residency, which is a status that allows a new migrant to work and live in New Zealand, and travel freely in & out of the country on a permanent basis.

Permanent Residency is the end goal unless you are wishing to come to New Zealand for a short term holiday, study, working holiday or fixed-term job placement.

There are a number of ways to achieve permanent residency depending on what you can bring to the country in terms of skills, business or investment. The majority of migrants apply to New Zealand under the Skilled Migrant Category but there are a number of other categories that may suit your situation better.

Further detail can be found in the menu to the left.

Compass Immigration New Zealand will provide you with the professional advice and guidance to ensure that you have the greatest chance of success under a particular visa category. If you qualify under more than one category, our consultants will advise you on the "pros and cons" of each to help you make an informed choice as to the best way to proceed.

Knowing you are eligible for a permanent residence visa is the starting point for planning any move to the other side of the world. If you have not already done so, now would be a good time to get things started by completing Your Personal Assessment Questionnaire.
