Long Term Business Visa
The aim of the Long Term Business Visa/Permit category is to attract migrants who have been operating their own business and wish to establish a similar business in New Zealand.
This is a temporary work visa/permit for a total of 3 years allowing self-employment in New Zealand.
You may either establish a new business, or buy at least a 25% shareholding of an existing business. You need to be actively involved in the running of the business.
To be eligible for a Long Term Business Visa (LTBV) applicants will need to show INZ the following;
• a satisfactory business plan outlining the proposed business, suppliers, customers, proposed marketing, staff, required assets, financial forecasts and how the business will benefit New Zealand
• business experience that is relevant to the proposed business in New Zealand. If you have not previously operated your own business, you will need to provide evidence of work experience at a senior managerial level in a substantial, relevant business.
• sufficient funds to provide the capital required for the proposed business and to support the applicant and his/her family for three years.
• a genuine interest in establishing a profitable business benefitting New Zealand.
• an acceptable command of English language
The Long Term Business Visa is a pathway to residence in that after successfully running your business for at least 2 years, you may then apply for permanent residence under the Entrepreneur Category.
