Employees of a Relocating Business

Are you relocating to New Zealand with your employer?

If you are a key employee of a business that wants to relocate its operations to New Zealand, you may be eligible to apply for residence under the Employees of Relocating Businesses Category.

This policy is designed to enable key employees of businesses moving to New Zealand who do not qualify for residence under any other category to gain residence. It is not a points-based system but requires the employer/company owner to put up a case for that employee's residence

Once you can show that your business has relocated and meets the trading requirements of the Immigration Service, residence can be granted, subject to conditions. These conditions are that you work for the relocated business for two years, and the business meets all relevant employment and immigration laws in that two years.

Your application can include your partner and any dependent children travelling with you.

The company will need the approval of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in the relocation of the business.
