John Hunter moved to New Zealand over 11 years ago. He grew up in Vereeniging, about an hours drive from Johannesburg, where he worked as an accountant for 15 years and then spent 10 years running his own businesses in manufacturing, fabrication and retail.

John, upon arrival in New Zealand, fell back on his experience in the accounting profession and held various roles over a ten year period, before deciding to pursue his interest and a career in Immigration Consultancy. He has drawn on his own and his families experiences and knows how vital it is for new-comers to be able to hit the ground running and integrate immediately into the new society.

John is passionate about helping people move to New Zealand and this was his primary reason for joining the team at Compass. He wants the transition to be as painless as possible and is on hand to provide valuable assistance, answers to questions or just share experiences.
