When to Leave?

When is the right time to leave South Africa for New Zealand?

Everyone who is keen to establish a new life (where the emphasis is on lifestyle) is asking: When should we make the big move?

While you may be watching the price of your property drop, the positive side to that is that the downturn is global and property is the lowest it has been in Auckland in about 5 years.

Let’s face it - it takes a while to get all your stuff together – your documents, things that you haven’t seen for YEARS like birth certificates…… and all manner of paperwork that has to be gathered together to get processed.

Personally speaking, I tried to handle the immigration process on my own, but soon realised that I did indeed require the assistance of a qualified immigration advisor. Thankfully I took advice from people 'in the know', because our application for residency would have been declined on a technicality.

All I can say is, at no point throughout the migration process did I ever doubt that I had made the right decision. I felt immediately “at home” in New Zealand and now with the type of service provided Compass you can also have the peace of mind to know that the information you are getting is up to date, accurate, and that your case will be in good hands.

So - the question as to when is the right time to make the move?

Quite frankly, if you wait for that very elusive perfect time to make the move, then you stand the risk of 'missing the boat'! There is no right time. If in doubt, then get on the plane and come see for yourself.
